Audiologist, Full or Part Time

Our audiologists love working at Better Hearing and Audiology. Our patients love us too. (Check out our 580+ 5-star Google reviews) We are so popular we would like another audiologist to join us in scenic, southeast Idaho to serve in our Idaho Falls clinic.

Idaho is one of the fastest-growing states in the nation. Idaho Falls is the commercial hub for southeast Idaho. It has been rated as the “Best Performing Small City” 3 out of the last 4 years by the Milken Institute. The beautiful Snake River cuts through our town and is surrounded by a 10-mile-long hiking loop. Rexburg, our other clinic, is 30 minutes to the north. We are within 2 hours of Yellowstone National Park and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Our surrounding country is full of fishing, boating, hiking, hunting, and skiing opportunities.

Our local economy is built on both science and agriculture. The Idaho National Laboratory sits about an hour to the west of Idaho Falls bringing in scientists and engineers that create a stable, well-funded population. Idaho State University is one hour to the south. Better Hearing and Audiology frequently serves as a practicum site for their audiology students. Rexburg is home to BYU-Idaho, a flourishing private college. Both communities are surrounded by potato and grain fields.

Better Hearing and Audiology provides diagnostic, dispensing, tinnitus, and ABR services for patients ages 0-115. Opportunities to develop a balance program are available for the right candidate. We serve all of southeast Idaho and into Montana and Wyoming.

Following best practices is an integral part of all we do which means doing Real Ear on every hearing aid treatment. Getting the best technology match for each patient means we work with all major hearing aid manufacturers. It is the provider who decides what is the best prescription match for each patient. Taking care of our whole community means we work with the VA, Medicare, Medicaid, Vocational Rehab, and many insurance companies. Our motto is “Better Hearing–Better Relationships”. We truly believe better hearing for our patients means they are enabled to have better relationships with their loved ones and community members. This is why what we do and how we do it is so important.

Why should you want to work with us? One of our core values is everyone leaves better than when they came, this includes our staff and students. We are willing to invest in you! We have sent providers to trainings for tinnitus, dementia, auditory processing etc. Last year, our providers as a group traveled to Dallas to learn about the brain. Our providers held a brain and learned about the auditory pathways and tinnitus generation sites. Many of our audiologists have picked an area and become experts and adjunct staff to universities, etc. Dr. Parsons has coauthored a book about hearing loss. We believe in work/life balance so full time works 8-5:30 Monday -Thursday with only one Friday a month. Our staff enjoys their regular 3 day weekends. We are open to discussing potential part time scheduling.

Compensation includes 72k+ salary, 401k with matching, profit sharing, paid vacation, sick, and holiday time, paid licensure, and ongoing education opportunities. Reimbursement of up to $3k for moving expenses.

To apply please send resumes and questions to hiring.BHA@gmail.com or schedule a phone chat with Heidi Dickhaut and/or Dr. Parsons by calling (208) 604-5003.

Will help our doctors succeed. Give patients such an amazing experience that they not only tell their friends but are willing to invest in their hearing health. Share your opinions and insights during office meetings. Strive for improvement through training, role play, ongoing education, and goal setting. Enjoy dad jokes and an “Aud” sense of humor. Have a voice so soft that others struggle to hear you, especially someone with hearing loss. Are not willing to ask for help to learn and improve. We are very protective of our culture, so if you are looking for a quick hire where we won’t contact your references, we are not a good fit.

Do You Have?

Excellent customer service skills and a warm personality? 5-star customer service? Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks? Good computer skills and a willingness to be trained on our software (CounselEar), multiple brands of hearing aid apps, and multiple phone types? The ability to enjoy an “Aud” sense of humor and have fun while working hard?

Preparing patients for appointments and supporting the audiologist. Maintaining hearing aid stock. Cleaning and repairing hearing aids, assisting walk-ins, and scheduling follow-up appointments. Teaching patients how to use their hearing aids and related apps and technologies.
